The American Dream Interrupted
The American Dream Interrupted is a feature-length investigative documentary examining how U.S. immigration policy, political rhetoric, and religious language intersect to shape who is allowed to belong in America.
At the center of the film is a mixed-status family in Maryland. Ivania is a U.S. citizen. Her husband, Teito, is an undocumented youth pastor and community leader. Together they are raising three American-born children while navigating a legal system that keeps their future uncertain. Their story is intimate and personal, but it also exposes something much larger.
